After a successful run in theatres since its theatrical release on February 28, 2025, Sabdham, starring Aadhi Pinisetty and Lakshmi Menon, is ready to make its digital debut. The Tamil film will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting March 28, 2025, as reported by Pinkvilla. An official confirmation from the streaming platform is still awaited.
Sabdham Plot Summary
Sabdham follows Ruben (Aadhi Pinisetty), a paranormal investigator from Mumbai, who is called to investigate a series of mysterious deaths at a medical college in Munnar. While the deaths initially seem like suicides, rumors begin circulating that there may be a supernatural force at play. Ruben uncovers a connection between the deaths and Avanthika (Lakshmi Menon), a house surgeon and lecturer at the college.
However, Avanthika doesn't believe in ghosts, leading to a conflict with Ruben's scientific approach. This clash of beliefs becomes central to the unfolding mystery. Directed by Arivazhagan Venkatachalam, the film is produced by Siva and S. Banupriya Siva under 7G Films and AAlpha Frames. The music is composed by S. Thaman, while the cinematography is handled by Arun Bathmanaban.
Sabdham Review
While Sabdham has intrigued audiences, it has received mixed reviews. The Times of India gave the film a 2.5 out of 5 rating, stating, “Sabdham remains intriguing until the first half when along with its protagonist, we, too, remain puzzled about what's happening. Visually, too, we are in a world of heavily blurred frames and tacky visual effects that might have been apt in the Aranmanai or Kanchana universes. Given that it is from a filmmaker who delivered one of the sickest-looking horror films, it feels underwhelming.”
