Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the fourth Global Renewable Energy Investor Summit (RE-INVEST) 2024 in the Gandhinagar district of Gujarat. On this occasion, PM Modi said that India’s diversity, scale, capacity, potential, and performance, all are unique. That is why I say, ‘Indian solutions for global applications’, the world is also understanding this. Not only Indians, but the whole world thinks that India is the best bet of the 21st century. German Economic Development Minister Svenja Schulz welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Over 10,000 delegates expected to attend
According to reports, more than 10,000 delegates, including influential people from the government, industry, and financial sectors, are expected to attend the three-day conference organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). Union Minister Pralhad Joshi praised the Prime Minister’s leadership, which has helped India become a global leader in renewable energy. India is not only the fifth-largest but also the fastest growing economy in the world. Under the leadership of PM Modi, India is working for clean energy. As the Chief Minister of Gujarat, PM Modi played an important role in pushing renewable energy. Under his guidance, Gujarat emerged as a leader in green energy sectors.
PM Modi has made it a global mission.
Minister Joshi said that upon becoming the Prime Minister of India, he made it a global mission to build a cleaner and more sustainable world. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel said that under the leadership of PM Modi, Gujarat emerged as a leading state in the renewable energy sector and added that the state’s Renewable Energy Policy and Green Hydrogen Policy reflect the state government’s commitment to a green future. Gujarat has an installed capacity of renewable energy of over 50,000 MW, with renewable energy contributing 54 percent of the state’s energy capacity. Gujarat leads the country in solar power installation.

The theme of RE-INVEST 2024 is Mission 500 GW, which underlines India’s strategic goal to significantly expand its renewable energy capacity by 2030. As the fourth largest country globally in installed renewable energy capacity, India aims to further strengthen its leadership in the global energy transition. Key international partners of this year’s event include Australia, Denmark, Germany, and Norway. Additionally, Indian states such as Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh will actively participate. High-level delegations from the US, UK, Belgium, EU, Oman, UAE, Singapore, and Hong Kong will also attend, with some delegations being led by ministers from Germany and Denmark.
