Ranchi is lagging in voter mapping with only 66% complete by June 15
Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : Voter mapping work is progressing across the state of Jharkhand in view of the intensive revision of the electoral rolls. It is the lowest in Ranchi district. Thirty-four percent voters in Ranchi district remain unmapped.
Work on voter mapping is ongoing in Jharkhand ahead of the Intensive revision of the electoral rolls in the state. Ranchi district lags in this matter; as much as 34 percent voters in Ranchi are unmapped. Mapping is complete for 65.84 percent voters only. In Hazaribagh, Dhanbad and East Singhbhum too, more than 30 percent of voters' work is pending. The deadline for completion is June 15.
K Ravi Kumar, Chief Electoral Officer said that the mapping would continue till June 15, prior to the extensive revision of electoral rolls in the state and subsequent preparation of enumeration forms and training of personnel. However, the process is moving at a faster pace following the uploading of the list of unmapped voters in a search able format on the Chief Electoral Officer’s website and at each and every polling station on May 23rd. The work has been done so far for 78.60 percent voters. The unmapped voters are approaching their BLOs to get themselves mapped against the previous extensive revision work. There are 20,806,211 voters at present that have been mapped and a total of 14,03,354 voters have been mapped since May 23 (the date of uploading of the unmapped list).
What did the Election Commission say:
K Ravi Kumar said the public may connect with their BLO's mobile number by going to the "connect with Election officer" tab on the e-Senate application and enter the voters' ID number. Along with this they may log on to the web site of the Election Officer concerned and approach the page where their polling station has their list of unmapped voters along with BLO's number and name; and submit their data. The Election Officer advised every unmapped voter to connect with their BLO in his available time.
Where and how much mapping done:
In the seven constituencies of Ranchi district the mapping work is comparatively less done. Hatia constituency 50.82% has been mapped, while 49% is pending. Ranchi constituency 51.37% mapped; 48% pending. Kanke 63.09%, Khijri 69.97%, Tamar 81.13%, Silli 81.87% and Mandar 82.98% are unmapped voters in the respective constituencies of Ranchi district.
