Rajasthan Politics: BJP extends support to Sachin Pilot, Congress in silence on Gehlot's statement
Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : State Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra refused to answer questions regarding the infighting within the Congress on Thursday. He avoided answering the questions.
There seems to be no end to the political tussle between former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot and National General Secretary Sachin Pilot. Congress's factionalism once again came out in public after Ashok Gehlot's statement on Sachin Pilot on Sunday.
While the Congress is on the back foot after Gehlot's statement, party leaders are in silence. Today, the state president Govind Singh Dotasra not only avoided answering the question about the inner struggle within the party but also gave a warm namaste and thank you and went away.
The Congress distance itself from Ashok Gehlot's statement
Coming to the state president's office after a 3-day visit to Punjab, Govind Singh Dotasra greeted us three times with a namaste and thank you and entered his car leaving without responding. When we spoke to several other senior Congress leaders on the subject, they too did not speak on camera in an official capacity. Although the Congress party may be on the back foot on this issue and is trying to distance itself from the former CM's statement, the BJP has now gained an opportunity to attack Congress due to this.
BJP attacks Congress
The BJP is openly siding with Gehlot in the struggle between Gehlot and Pilot. Following the party's political move, various BJP leaders are continuously targeting Gehlot and supporting Sachin Pilot. While speaking on the matter, firebrand MLA of BJP's Hawa Mahal constituency Balmukund Acharya said, "Sachin Pilot is a young and dynamic leader, and people support him, but Congress leaders are always insulting and teasing him and not giving him due respect. Leaders like Ashok Gehlot do it very often."
Does BJP want to bring Pilot into the party?
MLA Balmukund Acharya says that it is for this reason that the BJP sympathizes with Sachin Pilot. When asked if BJP will give Pilot due respect and equal treatment by including him in its party, he rejected the idea, stating that he will do him justice only if he joins the party.
Acharya added that the BJP never calls anyone, but people voluntarily come forward themselves who support BJP's policies and want to serve the nation; everyone who enters the BJP party gets respect.
Which statement by Ashok Gehlot is being discussed?
According to the political debate going on between two rival politicians, it is important to mention that in the media interaction on Sunday, the former Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot openly targeted Sachin Pilot, accused him of conspiring against himself, and told him more than once that "When Sonia Gandhi and the Congress leadership wanted to make me their national president, why did I say no to them. The way the situation was created that I was being defamed in the public eye. The observers came without informing suddenly the public drama starts and I was defamed. Pray for me now if you can't do then."
It is to be noted that after Ashok Gehlot's statement, the political tug of war between the two leaders in Rajasthan has once again begun, but Sachin Pilot and other Congress leaders loyal to him are yet to respond to Gehlot's controversial statement.
