Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan, along with his brother and popular actor Chiranjeevi, departed for Singapore after receiving news of Kalyan’s son being injured in a fire incident at a school. The two were seen at the airport with Chiranjeevi’s wife, Surekha, as they rushed to be by the child’s side.
Fire in Singapore Injures 15 Children and 4 Adults
The incident occurred at a 'shophouse' on River Valley Road in Singapore. The Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed that at least 15 children and 4 adults were hospitalized due to the fire. Among them was Pawan Kalyan’s younger son, Mark Shankar, who sustained injuries to his hands and legs.
Son Undergoes Bronchoscopy; Kalyan Expresses Concern
Addressing reporters before leaving, Pawan Kalyan shared that his son was undergoing a bronchoscopy under general anesthesia. He expressed worry about the long-term effects of the injuries. He also acknowledged the support of the Singapore High Commissioner in India, who assured help during the medical treatment process.
Political Leaders Extend Support and Prayers
The incident has sparked widespread concern and support from political leaders. Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer expressed his sympathies through an official statement. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, also conveyed his shock via social media and wished for Mark Shankar’s quick recovery and the safety of all affected children.
Mark Shankar Receiving Treatment in Singapore Hospital
Following the fire, Mark Shankar was immediately taken to a local hospital in Singapore for treatment. The Jana Sena Party confirmed his injuries and stated that he is currently under medical supervision.
