Apart from this film of British-Indian producer Sandhya Suri, another film based on an Indian girl has made it to the list in this category. The name of this film is ‘Anuja’, which has been shortlisted for the Academy Award’s International Feature Film category.

Ladies missing from the race for top 15
Let us tell you, in the 97th Academy Awards i.e. Oscar 2025 being held in America, 15 films have been shortlisted in the International Feature Film category, which have been selected from films made in about 95 different languages. Out of the films made in 95 different languages, the judges had to shortlist only 15 films, which also included India’s ‘Laapta Ladies’. But Kiran Rao’s ‘Laapta Ladies’ could not make it to the top 15.
