Not all autism is the same! There is a profound fact uncovered about the brain

Post

Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : The word Autism refers to a neurodevelopmental disorder that usually causes people to behave repeatedly in the same ways, with the social aspects of interacting often being impaired. A brand new research, in which is a really big break, has significantly changed the perspective towards Autism. This new research has discovered 2 sub-types of Autism.

The entire concept here is all about how different areas in the brain communicate.

According to the study, the main factor in autism lies in either over or under communication in brain areas. These patterns were observed to define two distinguishable, reproducible subtypes of Autism:

1.  Autism Type 1: These people are in a state of "hyperconnectivity"-having too much connectivity among their brain systems and are associated with immune related pathways.
2.  Autism Type 2: These people are in a state of "hypoconnectivity"-having too little connectivity among their brain systems, involved in synaptic paths which helps in sending signals between different neurons.

Who was involved in the breakthrough discovery and how was it conducted?

This is a brilliant piece of research led by researchers from both the 'Italian Institute of Technology' and the 'Child Mind Institute' in America. In order to study this important discovery, the researchers analysed and processed their data very rigorously:
They carried out a study on the brains of 20 rats.
They also scanned the brains of 940 children and young people that had autism.

What does it mean for us in the future?

According to the researchers, this discovery could lead us down a whole new path of treatment for Autism. These significant findings could potentially lead to the development of a new range of tools, creating new ways to provide personalized, pinpoint care for those with autism.
