Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has introduced a significant enhancement to its customer service by enabling policyholders to pay their premiums directly from home via WhatsApp. This initiative leverages the popular messaging platform to offer a convenient and accessible channel for premium payments.

Registered LIC policyholders can now send a "Hi" message to LIC's official WhatsApp number (8976862090) to access various services, including checking policy details and making premium payments. The process involves selecting the premium payment option, entering policy details, and then completing the transaction using payment methods such as UPI, net banking, or cards, all within the WhatsApp chat interface. Upon successful payment, users receive an instant digital receipt via WhatsApp.

To avail of this service, policyholders must first be registered on the LIC website (licindia.in) and ensure their WhatsApp number is the one registered with their LIC policy. This move is part of LIC's broader digital transformation strategy, aiming to enhance customer convenience and provide services through platforms already widely used by policyholders.LIC's e-services, in general, offer policyholders various functionalities like policy status checks, online payments, and grievance registration from the comfort of their homes.
