L2: Empuraan Box Office Collection Crosses Rs 70 Crore in Five Days

The Malayalam action-drama L2: Empuraan, starring Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has made an impressive start at the box office. According to data from trade portal Sacnilk, the film collected an estimated Rs 70 crore India net within five days of release.

The movie, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, launched with a strong Day 1 collection of Rs 21 crore, followed by consistent earnings over the weekend.

High Occupancy on Eid Holiday

Thanks to the Eid holiday, the film experienced a surge in occupancy on Monday, especially in the Malayalam version with an overall rate of 66.83%. Detailed show-wise occupancy includes:

Morning Shows: 56.84%

Afternoon Shows: 71.58%

Evening Shows: 71.03%

Night Shows: 67.88%

In contrast, Hindi language screenings had a much lower turnout:

Morning Shows: 4.00%

Afternoon Shows: 11.15%

Evening Shows: 12.48%

Night Shows: 13.28%

Star Cast, Production, and Controversy

The film features a star-studded cast including Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Abhimanyu Singh, and Sachin Khedekar. Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Sree Gokulam Movies, the film has generated buzz for both its content and controversy.

Lead actor Mohanlal recently issued an apology for any offense caused by the film. Producer Gokulam Gopalan announced that the film will undergo 17 cuts, with a revised version set to hit theaters next week.
