Former Indian International cricketer KL Rahul made a loud IPL statement by recalling a scene from Rishab Shetty’s Kantara during Delhi Capitals' important win in IPL 2025 as a tribute to one of the most memorable moments in Kannada cinema house.

Rahul couldn't help but replicate the screen’s signature twirl his bat into the ground ‘bat floor’ move’ as a tribute to Kantara. The clip, which was apparently shown live on TV, has gone on to get a lot of shares on social media.

“Rishab Shetty is one of my favorite directors and I’m fond of every move he makes,” said Rahul shedding light on his metaphor.

His Bollywood counterparts embraced the duality of fandom - sports and cinema.
