The defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is licking its wounds trying to rebound from a defeat against Gujarat Titans (GT) who are currently the top-ranked team on the points table, in the multi-faceted burgundy battle at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

KKR was jolted back to reality as they suffered a shock 16-run defeat in their last match against the Punjab Kings where the KKR was unable to chase down a set target of 111 and mustered only 95 runs in total.

Gujarat Titans comes into this match riding high on confidence after their previous win against the Delhi Capitals, reclaiming the top position, courtesy of Buttler’s explosive 204 run chase during which he scored a staggering 97 runs not out.

GT holds the head-to-head record with 2-1 wins over KKR. KKR managed to secure a win only once, in 2023, when Rinku Singh single-handedly defeated GT by hitting 5 back-to-back sixes against Yash Dayal at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
