Within its territory, the Indian government has restricted access to Pakistan's official government X (Twitter) account. This came after a suicide attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam area on April 23, in which 26 civilians were killed.
Cabinet Committee Reviews National Security Measures
Just days after the attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security, Moderated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to work out the optimum counter-strategies for the country. Among the measures announced were the suspension of the treaty over the Indus Waters and closure of the main land border crossing with Kashmir.
Midday Gun Attack Targeting Tourists
The shooting happened around 2:30 pm while gunmen shot at tourists engaged in pony riding and other casual charters. This incident is being termed one of the worst such occurrences since the revocation of 370 in 2019.

Asocial media response from Pakistani leaders has been noticeably absent even when there is international outrage regarding the incident. The only response which was shared publicly came in a statement from the Pakistani foreign office.
Controversial Statement From Pakistan’s Defence Minister
Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khwaja Asif considered the attack as part of the so called “revolutions” India is facing. He asserted different parts of the country: Nagaland, Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, and Manipur are opposing what he termed as “Hindutva Imperialism” on the peripheral minorities like Christians and Buddhists.
