Suspense crime, Digital Desk : India Financial Support Maldives: India has provided financial aid amounting to US $ 50 million to Maldives. This was reported by the Indian High Commission in Maldives in a statement. The High Commission further noted that upon the request made by Maldives government Indian has extended budgetary assistance to the Maldives government in the shape of treasury bills of $50million (approx Rs 420 crore) for one additional year. It can be understood from this move of India that currently there is a continuous balance of advance relation between India and Maldives.Expressing Indian Diplomacy's Greater Financial Commitment Toward Maldives Development

The foreign minister of Maldives, Abdullah Khalil, expressed his gratitudes after Indian government sponsored direct assistance toward Maldives development while expressing his own gratitudes on X platform. Khalil said, “I extend my most sincere thanks to External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and the Government of India for extending crucial assistance to Maldives with the rollover of a US$50 million treasury bill. This support comes at an important time and it showcases the ties of friendship between Maldives and India. This will assist in the Maldives government’s continued efforts to undertake fiscal reforms aimed at strengthening the economy.”

Muizzu Further Advanced Diplomatic Relations in South Asia Further during His Visit to India

The President of Maldives Mohammed Muizzu during his five day visit to India in October last year. This was his first visit after he officially took the office in November 2023, which was noted by the President’s office at the moment with saying, “An important outcome of the visit was the ‘Vision for Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership’ which sets a framework for the two countries to conduct relationship on various domains.”
