"Getting in for the first time feels like a scene from a movie," the user wrote. "It's clean, spacious, and eerily quiet."
On a simple, straight-shot ride through a suburban area, the Robotaxi performed flawlessly. It navigated traffic, obeyed speed limits, and delivered a smooth, comfortable experience that the rider called "99% perfect."
However, the technology's version 1.0 status became more apparent in complex situations. During a second trip that involved navigating a busy four-way stop and an unprotected left turn, the user noted that the Robotaxi was "eerily cautious." They described long pauses as the vehicle's AI calculated the safest moment to proceed, leading to some hesitation that a human driver might not exhibit. "It drives like a very careful student driver who is terrified of making a mistake," the review explained. "It's safe, but not entirely natural yet."
A third ride highlighted a minor issue with the drop-off, where the car stopped a few feet past the precise location requested.
The final verdict? The user called the Tesla Robotaxi a "game-changing" and "magical" piece of technology that undeniably represents the future of transportation. However, they concluded that while the core functionality is incredibly impressive, it will need further refinement and real-world data to smooth out the cautious driving style and perfect its handling of complex urban environments.
