Haryana Municipal Election Results 2026: BJP Sweeps Six of Seven Bodies - Congress Struggles to Make a Dent

The results of the municipal elections in Haryana have been declared. After the conduction of elections on May 10 th , eagerly everyone was looking forward to hearing about the results. Most of the municipal elections was a fairly close fight between Congress and
in some areas but that was not the case with the state of Haryana as the BJP ended up with a landslide victory. Out of the 150 wards and 7 municipal bodies held elections, the BJP emerged as victorious in six.
In Ambala Municipal Corporation, BJP had been successful in 16 out 20 wards; Congress candidate got 3 seats, independent candidate was able to secure only one seat. Whereas in Sonipat Municipal Corporation; BJP successfully won 17 and Congress successfully won 5 seats in 22 wards. In Panchkula Municipal Corporation, BJP won 17 seats out of 20 wards and Congress secured only one seat in the Municipal Corporation.2 independent candidates also won in the Municipal Corporation. In Uklana Municipality elections, a Congress supported independent has been elected as the Mayor and all the 16 independent candidates won the elections who have contested elections on their name only.
In Rewari Municipal Council, BJP has won the election. Of the total 31 wards of the Municipal council, 11 were won by candidates of BJP, 19 by independents and 02 by candidates of Congress. In Dharuhera Municipal Council, BJP has won the chairman. Of 18 wards, 18 were won by candidates of independent candidates and there is no single candidate of any party. In Sampla Municipal Council, BJP has won 6 out of 16 wards, remaining are independent candidates.
According to Nayab Saini, voters trusts Narendra Modi.
Commenting on the mandate for the BJP in the recently concluded Haryana local body elections, the Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that as the credibility of the Center and Haryana government has increased over the years under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have received such results in the local body elections. Today all the three Mayors of Haryana are a result of a party candidate. We have secured a large margin victory in Rewari, Sampla and Dharuhera as well. The people have stopped trusting the opposition as the latter has always indulged in hatching lies for politics. The opposition should always mention their failure to include women and get reservation for them and then talk about any other issue. The opposition has not done anything for the farmers so far. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the respect of India has increased all over the world which has motivated us for such results.
