Delhi Excise Case: Court takes cognizance of CBI’s supplementary charge sheet, summons 4 accused including Sisodia

Delhi Liquor Policy Case: Summons have been issued against 4 accused in the supplementary chargesheet filed by the CBI in the alleged Delhi government liquor scam. The court has taken cognizance of the supplementary charge sheet filed against Manish Sisodia, Arjun Pandey, Buchi Babu and Amandeep Dhal. All four have been summoned on June 2. Amandeep Dhal and Sisodia are currently in jail, in which case production warrants will be issued for their appearance. Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was arrested on February 26 after several rounds of questioning in connection with alleged corruption in the excise policy.

Sisodia in judicial custody till June 2

Sisodia is in judicial custody till June 2 in the CBI case related to the excise scam. The CBI filed a supplementary chargesheet in the court on April 25. It includes names of four accused including Manish Sisodia. Earlier, the court had reserved its decision on the matter of taking notice till May 27.

The CBI has named Sisodia as the mastermind of the scam in the charge sheet. Sisodia’s bail plea in both the CBI and ED cases has already been rejected by the Rouse Avenue court. Both the cases are being heard in the court of Special CBI Judge MK Nagpal.
