Suspense crime, Digital Desk : As India and the world celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that he is "leading the creation of a new international history" for the ancient practice.
Speaking at the main state-level event in Bhopal, the Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region credited the Prime Minister with single-handedly elevating yoga from an Indian tradition to a global phenomenon. He highlighted that it was PM Modi's initiative and address at the United Nations that successfully established June 21st as a day of worldwide yoga observance.
"Thanks to the Prime Minister, the reverberations of India's 5,000-year-old culture are now being felt in every corner of the world," Scindia remarked while participating in a mass yoga session.
Scindia's celebration was part of a massive, coordinated effort across the country, with the main national event being led by Prime Minister Modi himself from Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. The participation of senior ministers in various cities underscored the government's commitment to promoting this ancient heritage.
The minister reiterated the core message of the day, describing yoga as a holistic practice that nurtures physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. He emphasized that it is an invaluable gift from India to the world, offering a path to a healthier, more balanced, and harmonious life.
