Shani Sade Sati is a major astrological phase that lasts for seven and a half years, divided into three parts of two and a half years each. This period is known for bringing various challenges in an individual’s life. However, Chaitra Navratri is believed to be a spiritually powerful time to perform specific remedies to reduce the negative impact of Saturn (Shani Dev) and seek divine blessings.
Here are some effective remedies you can follow during Navratri to lessen the effects of Shani Sade Sati:
Special Bath Ritual on Saturdays:
On Saturdays during Navratri, take an early morning bath by mixing black sesame seeds in water. This is believed to purify both body and mind, calming Saturn's influence. After bathing, chant the mantra "Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah" to attract good fortune and reduce life’s obstacles.
Mustard Oil Donation:
Look at your reflection in mustard oil and donate it at a Shani temple. If temple visits aren't possible, pour the oil under a Peepal tree and pray to Shani Dev. This practice is believed to bring emotional stability and eliminate negative energy.
Lighting a Lamp Under Peepal Tree:
On Saturday evening, light a mustard oil lamp under the Peepal tree. Recite “Om Shanaishcharaya Namah” and chant the Shani Stotra. Circumambulate the tree three or seven times to reduce the inauspicious effects of Saturn.
Hanuman Ji Worship:
During Navratri, especially on Tuesdays and Saturdays, recite Hanuman Chalisa and offer vermilion and jasmine oil to Lord Hanuman. Chanting "Om Hram Hanumate Namah" is also helpful to lessen Saturn’s influence.
Charity and Donation:
On Saturdays, donate black sesame seeds, iron utensils, black clothes, urad dal, mustard oil, or blue flowers to those in need. Feeding the poor or giving fodder to cows is also considered auspicious and pleasing to Shani Dev.
Chanting Shani Mantras:
Chant Shani Beej Mantra “Om Pran Preen Pran Sah Shanaishcharaya Namah” 108 times every Saturday. You can also chant the Shani Gayatri Mantra: “Om Shanaishcharaya Vidmahe Suryaputraya Dhimahi Tanno Mandah Prachodayat”.
Recitation of Shani Chalisa and Stotra:
Recite Shani Chalisa and Shani Stotra every Saturday. Regular chanting brings relief in matters of health, career, and finance, and invites the blessings of Shani Dev.
Durga Maa Worship:
During all nine days of Navratri, worship Goddess Durga with devotion. Offer red flowers, coconut, sweets, and camphor. Recite the mantra “Sarvamangal Mangalye Shiva Sarvartha Saadhike” for favorable outcomes.
Special Worship of Maa Kalaratri:
On the seventh day of Navratri, worship Maa Kalratri by wearing blue or black clothes. Offer jaggery and sesame seeds while chanting “Om Kalratriye Namah”. This is believed to pacify the malefic effects of Saturn.
Read Uttarakand of Ramayana:
Reading the Uttarakand of Ramayana on Saturdays during Navratri is said to bring peace from Shani, Rahu, and Ketu doshas. If you're short on time, chanting “Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram” 108 times is equally beneficial.
