A deeply emotional and tragic event took place in Masanpur village under the Kiratpur police station area in Bijnor district on Tuesday. A woman named Rajkumari (42) ended her life by consuming poison after her husband Bhim Singh (45) passed away due to illness. The village mourned as both were cremated together on a single pyre at Ganga Barrage.

Wife Could Not Bear Husband’s Death

Bhim Singh had been unwell for a long time and was receiving treatment at AIIMS Rishikesh and Jolly Grant Hospital in Dehradun. Throughout his illness, his wife Rajkumari stayed by his side, taking care of him around the clock.

He passed away on Monday evening. When his body was brought home the next morning, Rajkumari was seen crying uncontrollably. Later, she went to her room quietly. Family members later found her unconscious and rushed her to a private hospital in Bijnor, where doctors confirmed her death. Investigations revealed she had consumed poison.

Cremated Together on the Same Pyre

The double tragedy left the entire village shocked. Villagers and relatives decided to perform the last rites of the couple together. Their bodies were cremated on the same pyre at Ganga Barrage. Both Bhim Singh and Rajkumari worked as daily-wage laborers to support their family.

Village in Mourning

The incident has cast a shadow over Masanpur. Locals described the couple’s bond as deep and selfless. Many houses in the village didn’t light their stoves in mourning, and neighbors expressed disbelief and sorrow over the sudden turn of events.
