Bimal Hasmukh Patel is a renowned architect with over three decades of experience. He specializes in urban design and planning. Bimal currently heads the university’s Center for Environmental Planning and Technology in Ahmedabad. Bimal has been leading this university since 2012. He is also the Chairman of HCP Design Planning and Management Private Limited. Hasmukh Patel was also a famous architect who designed many iconic buildings.

Dr. Bimal Patel has been honored with many awards for his work. His work and his projects have been honored with several awards including the Aga Khan Award for Architecture (1992), World Architecture Award (1997), UN Center for Human Settlements Award of Excellence (1998), Architecture Review High Commendation Award (2001). He is also a recipient of Prime Minister’s National Award (2003) and HUDCO Design Award (2013) for Excellence in Urban Planning and Design. He was honored with the Padma Shri award in 2019.
229 crore deal for Parliament, Rajpath redevelopment
Bimal Patel’s company won the consultancy bid for the Central Vista project. For consultancy services for ambitious projects including the new parliament, his firm received Rs. 229.75 crore was given. Services offered by Patel’s firm include preparation of master plans for projects and design of inclusive structures, cost estimates, traffic integration, parking facilities and landscape. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri gave this information last year.

He has worked on a range of residential, institutional, commercial, housing, industrial and urban design and urban planning projects across India. Bimal’s important projects include Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad, Ahmedabad Management Association, Bhuj Development Scheme and Town Planning Schemes, CG Road Redevelopment, Kankaria Lake Development, Sabarmati Riverfront Development and Swarnim Complex, Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Gujarat High Court, Himmatnagar Canalfront. Vikas, IIM Ahmedabad New Campus. Apart from this, Bimal has also designed the famous Kashi Vishwanath Corridor.
