On this day of Mahashivratri, a festival celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout India, devotees are shocked at the strange disappearance of a 'shivling' in the temple of Gujarat’s Dwarka. Authorities have begun a multi-agency investigation that seeks to retrieve the shivling as well as apprehend the thieves.

This event occurred at the Shree Bhidbhanjan Mahadev temple which is located in Kalyanpur near the famous and highly revered Harsiddhi Mataji temple, which sits on the coastline of the Arabian Sea. The temple is considered to be very ancient, nearing its several centuries in age.

The police claim that the monk in charge of the temple was taken aback to discover a portion of the temple's Shivling was missing along with the entire base of the Shivling. The base was found resting on the beach.

“Every other object in the temple was undisturbed. A group of scuba divers was also brought in to search for the missing Shivling, which was very likely to have been thrown into the water as the base was discovered on the nearby beach,” the police stated.

Barasiya has stated that forensic teams and a dog unit have been placed in charge of the matter, along with distinct divisions of the special ops group and the local police. On the grounds of section 305 of BNS, an FIR was filed for theft which is currently under investigation.

Upon arrival at the temple on Tuesday, the priest noted that the door was ajar. He then proceeded to check the interior, where he noticed that the Shivling had been displaced from its original location and promptly contacted the police.

The history surrounding the temple is quite elaborate, and it is a famous pilgrimage spot because it has a lingam shiva that is said to bleed, the Bhidbhanjan Mahadev Temple as well as other shiva temples in Bhavnagar. It is believed that their prayers are answered with true devotion and offerings, making the temple extremely sacred.
