Millions of devotees have gathered at the Sangam today to perform Amrit Snan on Basant Panchami as the Mahakumbh's third and final 'Amrit Snan' occurs on this auspicious day. The early morning bath at 4 am has allowed 1.65 crore worshipers to take part in bathing at the Ganga-Yamuna-Saraswati river junction. The members of Mahanirvani Akhara led the first group during the holy bath and other akharas joined afterward. A dip during Basant Panchami is believed to bestow salvation upon the believer.

The Amrit Snan performed on this day carries five major advantages for all participants.
