However, health specialists suggest that the reality behind these trending detox teas may not be as favorable—and could even be harmful. 

Dr. Anshul Bansal, who works as an Associate Consultant in General Surgery at Manipal Hospital in Goa, strongly advocates for caution. He says, “Natural doesn’t always mean safe. Many detox teas contain powerful herbal ingredients that can burden the liver, especially when consumed regularly or in large doses.”

The liver is well renowned for its active role as the body’s natural detoxifier, breaking down the myriad substances consumed such as food, drink, or even inhaled substances.
