Among the various spiritual events in the world, Maha Kumbh is considered to be the largest in terms of devotees making the trip. As Maha Kumbh 2025 draws near, it’s 45 days of festivities combined with India’s effortless integration of every digital tool available. This means that nearly every Indian startup focused on spirituality has seen exponential growth in terms of users and revenue.

Companies such as Sri Mandir, Vama, and AstroYogi which enabled people to participate in the once-in-a-lifetime event virtually, have far exceeded their expectations.

According to Manu Jain, a co founder of Vama, a Delhi-based company, aumenta el uso de tecnologia kumi, a mobile app designed for paying devotees at the Maha Kumbh. They saw an increase of 50% of customer transactions at Vama during this period. To match the demand, the firm had launched services including live kathas from the Mahakumbh, delivery of Gangajal from Mahakumbh Triveni, and Gurudev daily Mahakumbh chadhava at Triveni Sangam.

“My queda 2025 experience greater than incredible growth and wishes it was a place in pitch VAMA since we received extremely high 40% daily traffic on our platform. During the Maha Kumbh stage, the platform witnessed a 70% increase from the average monthly users we were onboarding.”

Take my statement with a grain of salt, but the platform has more than 250,000 monthly active users who have made at least one purchase.

Similar to Vama, dozens of spiritual start-ups devised special peripheral features for the Maha Kumbh that was held in 2025. According to a previous report by Moneycontrol, these businesses anticipated a surge between thirty to fifty percent in application downloads and purchases during the period of the Kumbh. However, these firms reported greater demand than expected and, as a result, higher than anticipated revenues.

“We were previously expecting an increase between forty to fifty percent and engagement from users around the world, but reverence from billions of people globally was a shock,” says Prashant Sachan, founder and CEO of Sri Mandir, a Peak XV-supported spiritual startup. “We would like to add that the sheer scope of our curated products Mahakumbh Ashirvad Box, guided pilgrimage tours, online puja offerings, and others gave us the ability to surpass our revenue goals.”

AppsForBharat, the parent company of Sri Mandir received $18 million in series B funding from Peak XV and Fundamentum in September.

While other competitors gave devotees a virtual pass of the event, Sri Mandir facilitated access to real rituals with Snan VIP services and accommodation through collaboration with Vedashram Trust and Sri Panchayati Mahanirvani Akhada. “Triveni Sangam personalized pujas, Maha Daan services, and holy Triveni Sangam Jal are some of the best selling products,” says Sachan.

Similarly, the AstroYogi application was able to capture more than 100,000 devotees, who could not attend the event, virtually at Prayagraj AstroYogi’s Pooja App.

“Our daily active users saw an uptick of 20 percent which further converted in taking online consultations from our astrologers. Alongside, we also saw 50 percent increase in online pooja rituals accompanied with 30 percent increase in retail pooja items,” said Aditya Kapoor, co-founder, Astroyogi.

The rest of the world is now more familiar with the term Kumbh Mela, that is considered to be one if not the biggest religious gathering in the world. With a budget set at an astounding 7,000 crore rupees, Maha Kumbh started on 13th January and is ongoing until 26th February, where as of current have had over 62 crore attendees.

With this, there are also emerging travel-technology companies that have reported a spike in bookings for buses, trains, and even flights.
