Delhites, you better prepare yourselves for another gloomy day as it is frequently engulfed in fog along with ghastly cold temperatures. Throughout the early morning hours fog had worsened visibility in Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Noida and other nearby regions. Motorists were especially affected by this as early traffic was impacted, many impotent to turn their lights on their vehicles to even see anything.
An orange alert has already been put in place by IMD that warns civilians of dense to very dense fog. Daily commuters that drive cars have been advised to turn on fog lights when they drive. It would be recommended to keep a check with airlines or trains to ensure possible push backs especially due to the adverse weather conditions Delhi is facing.

The harsh chill and fog in Delhi made it rather difficult to find the Sun but during the day on Thursday the temperature reached an astonishing 21.2 degrees, which is 2.2 degrees Celsius higher than the average. Even during Thursday the skies were clear which in turn then resulted in Delhi experiencing light fog during the morning, IMD also stated that humidity reached a staggering 87% mark.
In addition to this, Wednesday measured a low of -7.4 degrees Celsius, observing the minimum temperature on the other hand Friday was neutral as the temperature reached just 4.8 degrees Celsius.
In light of the increasing pollution levels the Centre’s panel on air quality decided to implement the third stage of the Graded Response Action Plan once more, and as a result of severe weather conditions the implemented plan will cover the Delhi NCR region.
Due to a combination of high fog and low wind, the Delhi air pollution level has peaked at 297 which has led to a slowdown in wind reach. Gasping for air out of pure dichotomy, the air quality index surged by 100 basic points on Thursday and hit a whopping 357 for 24 hours.
As an initiative to combat further escalation of the air pollution level, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has called for further changes and improvements under the GRAP stage three measures while keeping pollution control measures in vision.
