Suspense crime, Digital Desk : A massive evacuation is underway in China's southwestern Sichuan province, with more than 80,000 people forced to flee their homes following days of torrential rain that have caused catastrophic flooding.
According to state media reports, the relentless downpour has caused rivers to swell far beyond their banks, unleashing powerful floodwaters that have inundated vast areas. The deluge has submerged large swaths of farmland, destroyed homes, and crippled critical infrastructure.
Official figures state that 81,500 people have been urgently relocated to safer ground. The floods have severed major roadways, making rescue and relief efforts challenging, while also knocking out power and communication lines in several affected regions.
Authorities have launched a large-scale emergency response, deploying rescue teams and military personnel to the hardest-hit areas. Efforts are focused on reaching stranded residents and providing essential relief supplies, including food, clean water, and temporary shelter for the displaced families.
This severe flooding highlights the immense challenges faced by China during its annual rainy season, which frequently brings destructive weather events to various parts of the country.
