Suspense crime, Digital Desk : A court in Hisar, Haryana, has extended the judicial custody of YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who is at the center of a significant espionage investigation. Malhotra, arrested on charges of spying and violating the Official Secrets Act, will remain in custody until at least June 23 following the court's latest order.

The case against Malhotra alleges that she passed sensitive and secret information related to India's national security to a foreign intelligence agency. The Hisar police, who are leading the investigation, claim that she received money from foreign sources in exchange for this information. The YouTuber, who has a substantial following of over a million subscribers on her channel, was produced before the court via video conferencing from jail.

The investigation has uncovered a potentially larger network. Malhotra's arrest followed the prior detention of an army personnel, an army clerk, and another civilian in connection with the same case. Authorities are probing allegations that a "honey-trapping" operation was used to compromise individuals and extract classified information.

The police sought the extension of Malhotra's custody to allow for further investigation into the complex web of contacts and financial transactions associated with the case. The case has drawn significant attention due to the involvement of a social media influencer and the serious nature of the allegations, which point to a breach of national security involving military secrets. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to uncover the full extent of the alleged espionage ring.
