Suspense Crime,Digital Desk:Vaishakh Amavasya 2025: A very special day in Hinduism is Amavasya or simply New Moon Day. As such today is Vaishakh Amavasya and it falls on April 27, Sunday. Amavasya is very important as it is also known as Madhav month and the month of Lord Vishnu has his revered month of Vaishakh. The rituals of bathing and giving donation on vaishak amavasya cleanses a person of their sins bestowing them with divine blessings. The custom of offering tarpan along with daan and put forth to the Pitris during this day will ensure that the ancestors are liberated for eternal peace. Hence let's find out the auspicious time of the worship.
Auspicious time
Vaishakh Amavasya Tithi would commence on 27th April at 4:50 AM and end on 27th April at 1:00 AM. The Tithi is a Lunar date and each day of the moon’s phases is called Tithi The Fasting is associated with worshipping of Lord Vishnu. For observing vaishakh amavasya puja recipies is essential like kheer, and karhi offer. Devotees will receive grace of Lakshmi Narayan as well.
Methods of worship
On this day, rise early for a morning bath and use Gangajal for bathing. Subsequently, pour Gangajal over the idol of Vishnu kept at home. Apply sandalwood paste and add some rice; offer yellow tulsi leaves and yellow flowers. Illuminate a ghee diya and offer panchagavya of cow milk, curds, ghee, and sugar in a vessel. Set panchamrit in a different vessel and incinerate agarbathis (incense). Chant Vishnu Sahasranama Stotra or Vishnu Chalisa. Perfrom Vishnu Ashtakshari Japa and do Aarti seeking pardon for any offenses during prior pooja procedures.
Vaishakh Amavasya 2025: Daan
Offering a pot, or a vessel, on the day of Vaishakh Amavasya is considered propitious. The act propitiates the Shakshetra and bestows immense merit by pacifying the souls of ancestors.
Offering ghee on amavasya day carries great benefit. It is considéréed very beneficial for emotional, situational stability, and prosperity in a household.
On the day of Vaishakh Amavasya, assisting the financially challenged by offering them uncooked rice is indeed opportune. Such an act serves to augment wealth while increasing the abundance of nourishment and treasure in the household.
