The Deputy Chief Minister issued strict instructions to Village Development Officers to compile district-wise lists under the Chief Minister's Housing Scheme and ensure transparent allotment
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya stated that, through the *Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana* (Chief Minister's Housing Scheme), approximately 5 lakh families have so far gained security, dignity, and the opportunity for a better life. He noted that an action plan for constructing about 1.16 lakh new *pucca* (permanent) houses under the *Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana-Gramin* (Rural) was prepared last year. He directed officials to ensure the scheme's benefits reach truly needy families while meeting the set targets within the stipulated timeframe. District-wise lists of eligible beneficiaries should be compiled across all districts, and benefits should be extended based on eligibility with complete transparency and impartiality. He emphasized that no negligence, irregularity, or bias in the selection of beneficiaries would be tolerated.
He instructed officials to visit villages to identify genuinely eligible families and to assess—with sensitivity—the circumstances of widows, persons with disabilities, families affected by disasters or serious illnesses, and the socially disadvantaged. A *pucca* house is not merely a structure but a foundation of security, dignity, and self-reliance for a poor family. The 'double-engine' government is committed to bringing about positive change in the lives of the poor through the *Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana* and *Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana*.
He directed officials to pay special attention to the quality, timeliness, and transparency of housing construction and to ensure the immediate resolution of any issues arising at any stage, so that the benefits of government schemes reach even the most marginalized eligible individuals in society.
