Keshav’s jibe at Rahul: It is a case of the pot calling the kettle black—or rather, the sieve, with its seventy-two holes, speaking up
Following the cabinet meeting at Lok Bhawan, Mr. Maurya took a dig at Rahul Gandhi, quoting the proverb: "It is a case of the pot calling the kettle black—or rather, the sieve criticizing the winnowing basket despite having seventy-two holes itself." He stated that the Congress party should first present an account of its long tenure to the public. Although Congress held power in the country for a long period, no concrete initiative was taken during that time to conduct a caste census.
The Deputy Chief Minister noted that the government, led by the Honorable Prime Minister, is going to conduct a caste census for the first time. This decision marks a significant step towards understanding the actual status of all sections of society, formulating policies tailored to their needs, and further strengthening social justice.
Targeting the Congress party, the Deputy Chief Minister remarked that political parties which failed to take necessary steps for social justice despite being in power for decades should introspect on their own tenures before questioning the decisions taken by the BJP and the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mr. Maurya stated that under the BJP government, no section of society is being neglected. The government's objective is to ensure that the benefits of development and public welfare schemes reach the person standing at the very last rung of the social ladder. He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, social justice is not merely a political slogan but the foundation of policies aimed at public welfare and good governance.
