Dividend Stock: A small-cap personal care company has announced a dividend of 600 per cent per share for its shareholders, even as its stock has declined sharply in 2026 amid weak financial performance.

The company has a face value of Rs 10 per equity share. Its shares closed at Rs 8,089 on Tuesday, down Rs 38.50, or 0.47 per cent.

The stock has fallen 37.63 per cent so far this year, while the Nifty Smallcap 500 index has gained 7.56 per cent during the same period. The company's stock has also declined 9.76 per cent in the past month and 2.62 per cent in the last week.

The company reported a decline in profit and operating performance in the June quarter, with higher expenses and commodity cost fluctuations impacting its financial performance.

Rs 60 dividend and record date

The company under discussion is Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd. The company has declared a dividend of Rs 60 per share for 2026. The dividend is based on a face value of Rs 10 per equity share.

The record date is September 1, 2026, which is the date used to determine the eligible shareholders for the dividend.

Earlier this year, the company had announced an interim dividend of Rs 170 per share along with a special dividend of Rs 25 per share. In August 2025, it had announced a dividend of Rs 65 per share.

The company has a long history of dividend payments. It had announced an interim dividend of Rs 110 per share in February 2025, while dividends of Rs 95 per share and Rs 105 per share were announced in February 2023 and November 2023, respectively.

P&G Hygiene and Health Care Q1 profit falls 34%

The dividend announcement comes at a time when the company's financial performance has come under pressure.

Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care reported a 34.25 per cent decline in profit after tax to Rs 126 crore in the first quarter of FY27.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 192.06 crore in the April-June quarter of the previous fiscal year, according to a BSE filing. The company said its performance was impacted by commodity cost fluctuations arising from geopolitical uncertainties.

Revenue from operations stood at Rs 891.46 crore in Q1 FY27. The figures provided for the year-ago quarter in the input are also Rs 891.46 crore, although the stated percentage decline of 4.86 per cent does not reconcile with those two revenue figures. Total income declined 4.64 per cent to Rs 900.89 crore during the quarter.

P&G Hygiene and Health Care EBITDA margin falls

The company's operating performance also weakened during the quarter. EBITDA stood at Rs 170 crore in Q1 FY27, down 36.11 per cent from Rs 266 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.

The EBITDA margin fell to 19.08 per cent from 28.41 per cent in Q1 FY26. Total expenses increased 7.54 per cent to Rs 731 crore during the June quarter.

P&G Hygiene and Health Care Stock performance

Shares of Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care closed at Rs 8,089 on Tuesday, down 0.47 per cent. The stock touched a 52-week high of Rs 14,509 on October 7, 2025. It hit a 52-week low of Rs 8,075.50 on August 25, 2026.

At the current price, the stock is around 44.25 per cent below its 52-week high. The company's market capitalisation stood at Rs 26,289.95 crore. The stock's performance has also lagged the broader smallcap market. While Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care has declined 37.63 per cent so far in 2026, the Nifty Smallcap 500 has gained 7.56 per cent.

The stock's one-month return stands at negative 9.76 per cent, while it has declined 2.62 per cent over the past week.
