Solar energy development, environmental conservation, and economic empowerment—the 'double-engine' government's focus on rural prosperity: Keshav Prasad Maurya
Keshav Prasad Maurya inaugurated the event by lighting a ceremonial lamp. Subsequently, he inaugurated the 'Solar Energy and Renewable Energy-2026' exhibition and closely inspected the various stalls set up there. He gathered information about modern technologies, equipment, and innovations being developed in the fields of solar energy, renewable energy, electrical systems, and related sectors.
He stated that the synergy between food processing, self-help groups (SHGs), and solar energy could emerge as a new model for the economic self-reliance of rural women. Women associated with SHGs are boosting their incomes by engaging in activities such as food processing, dairy production, packaging, and the making of spices, pickles, and *papads*, as well as by dealing in local products. Integrating these units with solar energy would reduce electricity costs, allowing the savings made by women and small entrepreneurs to directly translate into increased income.
Mr. Maurya also interacted with experts, industry representatives, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs from the solar and renewable energy sectors. He noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is rapidly advancing towards clean and green energy. In Uttar Pradesh, too, solar energy is being promoted on a large scale by linking it to the economic progress of farmers, women, youth, small-scale workers, and entrepreneurs.
He remarked that the expansion of solar energy is not limited merely to meeting electricity needs; rather, it is becoming a robust foundation for employment, self-employment, investment, rural development, women's empowerment, and environmental conservation. During the event, experts and industry representatives also shared their views on the potential and investment opportunities available in the solar and renewable energy sectors in Uttar Pradesh.
