The Rajasthan Assembly turned into a battlefield on Wednesday as a heated debate on the Governor's address took a controversial turn. The session, which was already tense with allegations flying between the BJP and Congress, reached a boiling point when senior Congress MLA and former minister Shanti Dhariwal reportedly used an abusive remark on the floor of the House.

What Happened?

The friction began when Shanti Dhariwal was raising concerns about youth unemployment. He argued that failing to provide skill training and jobs to millions of young people would lead to a massive crisis.

Interrupting his speech, Government Chief Whip Jogeshwar Garg took a sarcastic jab—allegedly at Rahul Gandhi—saying, "In this country, everyone has found employment except for one youth."

Stung by the remark, Dhariwal retorted, "I only understand half of what you say," and in the heat of the moment, allegedly uttered an abusive word. The remark immediately triggered a massive protest from the treasury benches. Jogeshwar Garg was quick to object, pointing out that this wasn't the first time Dhariwal had used such language in the House. Taking note of the situation, the Chairman ordered the remark to be expunged from the official records.

Beyond the Abuse: Multiple Fronts of Conflict

The abusive remark was just one part of a chaotic day. Several other issues kept the House on edge:

The "Bheel Pradesh" Demand: BAP (Bharat Adivasi Party) MLA Anil Katara slammed the government for neglecting tribal communities. He warned that if the forests and mountains of the indigenous people continued to be exploited, they would settle for nothing less than a separate "Bheel Pradesh."

Paper Leak Allegations: BJP MLA Gopal Sharma launched a scathing attack on the previous Congress government, claiming that two former ministers should have been in jail over paper leak scams. He even made personal allegations about a former minister’s foreign trips, which led to a fierce pushback from Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully.

Housing Policy Row: During Question Hour, UDH Minister Jhabbar Singh Kharra and RLD MLA Subhash Garg clashed over the "Homeless Policy-2022," with Garg demanding a simple "Yes or No" on whether a survey had been conducted for homeless families in Bharatpur.

A House Divided

As the session progressed, it became clear that the gap between the ruling party and the opposition is only widening. From personal insults to regional identity demands, the Rajasthan Assembly is witnessing a highly polarized start to 2026. While the "expunged" remark might be gone from the records, the political tension it fueled is here to stay.
