Ukraine also suffered heavy losses in Kursk
Ukraine has claimed that its troops have taken control of about 1,300 square kilometers (500 square miles) of territory in Russia’s Kursk region. At the same time, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that Ukraine had suffered heavy losses in Kursk. It said that about 6,600 soldiers were killed or injured and more than 70 tanks and many armored vehicles were destroyed. These figures could not be independently confirmed. Meanwhile, officials in Russia said that four Ukrainian missiles were shot down in the Kursk region.
