War of Russia and Ukraine: After 3 years of the war between Russia and Ukraine, news flows that Ukraine accepted ceasefire. Donald Trump, the former president of the United States gave a note of welcome to Ukraine accepting ceasefire terms with Russia and uttered hope for a positive response from Russia as well. Trump made his statements during the public declaration of Ukraine's acceptance of ceasefire and Russia's subsequent accepting response which came after Pongy United States Delegate Jeddah meetings in Saudi Arabia on a Tuesday.
While attending a press conference, Trump declared that Ukraine had just now accepted the ceasefire. The next step is to approach Russia and hope that President Vladimir Putin will say yes to this. Trump claimed he felt sorrow for the disproportionally high deaths of soldiers and civilians during the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and stated quite frankly it was time for the war to come to an end. Emphasizing on the importance of ceasefire, Trump added, it would really be wonderful if Russia agreed too.
Previously, Ukraine, through the US proposal, accepted an immediate ceasefire for thirty days and agreed to start discussions with Russia. Trump's aides spoke with Ukrainian officials in Jeddah on Tuesday to discuss bringing the conflict to an end. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted that after approximately 9 hours of deliberation, Ukraine consented to a ceasefire and a discussion with Russia.
In response to this positive action from Ukraine, the US decided to lift the restrictions on sharing intelligence as well as resume the security aid. Trump, according to Rubio, wishes to see a swift conclusion to this conflict. If Russia accepts this proposal, he stated, the following steps would formally commence towards a genuine peace dialogue. If Russia chooses to disregard it, however, it will be obvious as to who the primary impediment to peace is.
