New Delhi: Today Bank Open Or Closed News Unionized bank employees, under the aegis of United Forum of Bank Unions, called for a nation-wide two day strike on March 24 and 25th in protest against IBA and the Finance Ministry ignoring demands made by their joint body. On Friday, the Forum announced the strike will not be executed in banks from Monday as planned, due to some positive assurance received from the Finance Ministry and the Indian Bank’s Association. The employees unitedly demanded the strike to be executed two days in Advance, on the 24th of March.

Without any positive response towards the demand meeting, the Chief Labor Commissioner called for Conciliation Meeting under which all parties needed to oblige. Assurances were presented from the IBA and the Finance Ministry regarding reception of the enforcement demands, leading to the postponement of strike So, they were able to suspend the strike.

The federation has demanded to cancel the most recent directions given by the Department of Financial Services regarding the review of performance and the Payment Linked Incentives (PLI) because the employees suggest this order puts at risk the security of the employment and fragments employees.

Consolidated request from bank workers - working hours to be reduced to 5 days in and employee should not be expected to work on the weekend.

To facilitate proper staffing at all levels.

Establishing protection of tenure.

Request for rescission of directions regarding recent appraisal of the Financial Services Division Performance
