Suspense crime, Digital Desk : The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has appointed former New Zealander fast bowler Tim Southee as a Specialist Skills Consultant for the England senior men’s team. He will cover the short-term assignment for all formats, with Southee starting during the one-off Test against Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge.
Southee will work with England’s coaching group through the home summer, finishing up after the Test series against India.
Southee Now Balances Coaching Roles with Playing Duties
Alongside his new responsibilities with England’s coaching staff, Southee will pick up his playing duties when The Hundred starts. He still plays a pivotal role for Birmingham Phoenix in the competition.
Having been New Zealand’s leading wicket-taker in international cricket, Southee is not short on experience, which will prove valuable in assisting to sharpen the England bowling unit. His appointment comes which is seen as an effort to strengthen England’s plans as they begin a new phase in the World Test Championship cycle.
