The MT-15 from Yamaha has arguably been the coolest bike in the 155cc segment because of the “Dark Side of Japan” styling and its performance. Yamaha has now released an updated model that MT-15 fans will appreciate because it builds on everything that the first generation had.

To start with the most obvious change, let’s discuss the paint options. While the new MT-15 retains its sharp, muscular lines, it now comes with stunning new color options that really turn heads, from the sleek black to the new, more vibrant shades. While those colors are new, the aggressive stance and bold front end that looks like it is always ready to pounce is still there.

However, the most important changes revolve around features and the technology. The new model now comes with fully equipped digital LCD screens for the new dashboards. Even more interesting is the new bike’s Yamaha Y-Connect app, which offers Bluetooth connectivity and lets you sync your phone to the bike for call, message, and parking alerts.

From the inside, the MT-15 features the same remarkable 155cc liquid-cooled engine. This engine is well known for its gutsy performance, and when paired with the slick 6-speed gearbox, it is absolutely joyful to ride in the city and a capable performer on the highway.

Yamaha makes further improvements with ride and handling. The new model is equipped with premium USD (upside down) front forks as well as new handling improvements, which give a more stable and confident feeling in corners. To increase safety, the bike now features a dual-channel ABS system, which is a very important and welcome upgrade.

With a very competitive price, the new Yamaha MT-15 is better than ever and sits nicely in the sweet spot for a premium commuter bike. Beast performance, further stylistic upgrades, and an appealing look designed for the modern rider makes this bike the perfect choice for this type of commuter.
