Today we are going to talk about one of the most accomplished and talented actors in Hindi cinema who has managed to create a unique identity not just in the industry but also in the eyes of the audience which even accomplished actors fail to do today.
Who is this phenomenal Bollywood star?
This is none other than Saurabh Shukla who was born on 5th March 1963, in Gorakhpur. He belongs to a family who had a background in art. His parents were experts of classical music. Particularly his mother, Jogmaya Shukla is said to be the first lady tabla player in Indian music. When Saurabh was merely two years old, his family shifted to Delhi. He did his primary schooling from Delhi and completed his graduation from Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College. After completing his studies, he stepped into theater world in 1984.

Saurabh Shukla after gaining some recognition in theater joined the National School of Drama, The Repertoire Company in 1991.
In 1994, he used his astounding acting skills to impress director Shekhar Kapur, which earned him a place in the film 'Bandit Queen'. He marked his entrance to Bollywood by portraying the character 'Kailash' in the film. Even though he released various films throughout the initial phase of his career, not all were successful in the box office. His most distinctive role was 'Kallu Mama' in the film 'Satya', which helped him to distinguish himself in the industry along with gaining significant recognition in 1998.

Saurabh Shukla was able to maintain his status in Bollywood after his role in ‘Satya’. He was also a co-writer of the film, which is interesting to note. Following that, he acted extraordinarily well in a series of blockbusters like ‘Jolly LLB’, ‘Barfi’, ‘OMG’, ‘Kick’. The audience always enjoys his unique combination of comic timing with serious roles. His comic roles are always paired with spontaneity and depth in the character, which makes each one different.
