Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : Suriya, the South Indian actor, has shared his next project, a Tamil film that will be directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Naga Vamsi under the franchise, Sithara Entertainments. The information was issued during the pre-release function of his forthcoming movie, Retro, which is set in Hyderabad. Expressing his gratitude, Suriya referred to the project as "a wonderful association" from "wonderful talent."
Deverakonda attended the event as the chief guest, and Suriya used this opportunity to thank everyone who had waited for the announcement. “Vamsi, my brother Venky, and me are coming together for this one," he exclaimed, Suriya Expresses Excitement. Inaugurally revealing that the new venture, which has been tentatively dubbed Suriya 46, will be shot in May 2025 and that he would be required to spend considerable time in Hyderabad prior to the shooting, “Looks like Hyderabad is going to be home for some time,” he said.
Sriram Ob was very excited to hear the news from Venky Atluri's Instagram Stories, "I have the utmost excitement for this opportunity, getting to work with the phenomenal @actorsuriya for his next, #Suriya46. I can't wait to take you all on this amazing journey, which we'll unveil soon," Venky Atluri said. He also gave credit to Naga Vamsi and Sithara Entertainments, claiming that without them, they wouldn't be able to undertake the project.
Suriya’s Comeback with Retro
Suriya expressed his enthusiasm regarding Retro calling it a comeback opportunity, “You don’t lose when you fall but when you fail to get up. We’re going to come back big, hit a big punch, and come out victorious again. ” His expectations for the film, which will open on May 1st, 2025, is that it will be an ‘evergreen’ movie to the audience.
Addressing Kanguva’s Performance
The news comes in the wake of Kanguva's lackluster box office reception. The movie turned out to be a financial disaster despite high expectations. Priced at ₹350 crore, the production budget was expected to be recuperated within two week’s of the films release. However, after its debut, only ₹106 crore was grossed worldwide. Suriya seemed eager to turn the tide in Kanguva’s favor alongside Suriya 46 and Retro.
Best Wishes for Nani
For the actor, Nani’s upcoming film HIT: The Third Case, which releases on the same date as Retro, ignited excitement. Together with Suriya, dashed mesage of “good luck” to his friend and actor.
About Retro
Nassar, and Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George, and Karunakaran star alongside Suriya as the films leading role. Prakash Raj, will also feature in a cameo role, alongside Shria Saran.
