Suspense crime, Digital Desk : After Operation Sindoor, hostilities and ceasefires were observed; now, the Indo-Pakistani border is peaceful. Nevertheless, an extremely sad incident from Sambalpur in Odisha ruptures this semblance of tranquility. Lipi Gand, the spouse of SSB jawan Debraj Gand, who hails from Tengnamal village of Jharsuguda district, succumbed to death during medical treatment. Border jawan Debraj, like many others who serve in tough locations, had to leave a critically-ill wife and a minor newborn child at home while he reported for battler duty.

Lipi’s Condition Relapse II Post-Delivery Complications

Debraj was present when Lipi gave birth to their daughter on 28 April, a healthy child. Treatment was sought promptly, but Lipi’s health worsened immediately after the surgery, with multiple systems starting to break down. She was transferred to the Burla Medical College. Admitted to the ICU, she was still out of his reach, since––to put it mildly–multiple organs were beginning to give up failing.

Call of Duty Amid Personal Crisis

On his wife's life support, Debraj received words from Sashastra Seema Bal to return to active duty and resume service at the border. Out of respect for his nation, he fulfilled his service despite the overwhelming circumstances. Sadly on May 13, multi-organ failure claimed the life of his wife Lipi, who passed away while under treatment.

Family Grieves as Village Mourns

Now, a girl is born and left motherless the same time a soldier is heartbroken, guarding the nation's border. The Lipi's family along with their village are in grief. The community, which had already been baffled with the news of Lipi’s death is shocked at the fact that she is gone from this world leaving behind a child and now has to grieve for Debraj’s pain and sacrifice.
