Salman Khan’s Sikandar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, released on March 30, 2025, aiming to be the actor’s next Eid blockbuster. Co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, the film collected ₹26 crore on its opening day. While this is a solid start, it falls short of the numbers posted by his earlier Eid releases like Tiger 3 (₹53.3 crore) and Sultan (₹36.54 crore).

According to data from Sacnilk.com, Sikandar recorded a 21.60% Hindi occupancy on Sunday, with the following breakdown:

Morning Shows: 13.76%

Afternoon Shows: 24.00%

Evening Shows: 25.08%

Night Shows: 23.55%

Comparison with Past Eid Blockbusters

Industry expectations were high for Sikandar, with predictions suggesting it might join the ₹500-crore club, a milestone reached by other major films like Pathaan, Jawan, Gadar 2, Animal, and Chhaava. However, the initial response indicates a more moderate trajectory for the film compared to those blockbusters.

Despite the tempered opening, Salman Khan's enduring fan base and Rashmika Mandanna’s growing appeal may still help the film maintain momentum in the coming days.

Critical Reception: Mixed to Negative

A review from Moneycontrol.com offered a less-than-favorable critique of the film. According to the review, Sikandar is affected by underwhelming performances, a predictable plot, and a weak screenplay. The songs failed to resonate, and emotional sequences were described as lacking impact. The film’s narrative includes implausible plot points, such as a powerful politician who easily manipulates law enforcement and immigration systems.

Additionally, Salman Khan's role was seen as one-dimensional, with more focus on action than on character development.
