India’s population now exceeds 100 crore. Even today, countless families struggle to put together two meals a day. To support them, the National Food Security Scheme provides subsidized grain. However, to receive this assistance, a ration card is mandatory. Those who lack one cannot access the program. If you already hold a ration card, you must act quickly to ensure continued support. Delay could mean losing your entitlement. To prevent your name from being struck off, follow the government’s latest instructions.

Names of these people will disappear from the ration card.

The government has tightened the rules for ration cards. Under the latest order, anyone who has not completed e-KYC will find their name struck off the ration card. Officials stress that e-KYC is a must so that subsidies and food grains reach only those who truly qualify. Without this digital verification, the chances of fraud and misuse increase.

This is the sole reason driving the policy. Every ration card holder must now finish the e-KYC process. If you have not yet registered, visit the designated center and complete the procedure without delay. If you wait any longer, your name will vanish from the ration card and you will lose the benefits that go with it.

To complete the e-KYC process for your ration card, your first step is to visit the nearest ration dealer or your local public service center. At the center, you’ll provide your Aadhar card for biometric verification. Several states have also enabled this verification online, letting you log in to the designated portal via your phone or computer. There, simply input your Aadhar number, and you’ll receive an OTP to complete the e-KYC.

If you encounter trouble with fingerprint scanning or OTP delivery, you can visit any offline center to finish the process. Remember that you must have e-KYC finalized to access ration card benefits. The government has announced a last date for completing e-KYC, so be sure to finish this step before the deadline.
