The former director of Krrish franchise, Rakesh Roshan, came forward to reveal that he would indeed be announcing ‘Krrish 4’ but it would not be under his command. Not long after that now, rumors suggest that Karan Malhotra shall take the lead for the fourth installment of the blockbuster, and Rakesh is now quite open about him admitting that he ‘passes the baton’ to Karan.
While conversing with Bollywood Hungama, Rakesh was posed the question about his feelings for passing the direction of a project he produced to someone else. He said, “I have to pass the baton at some point. So I might as well get it done while I’m in control and can supervise everything. If I’m in some mental haze tomorrow where I need to pass it on, I won’t have a clue what is being done.”
Rakesh Roshan went on to explain that his answer did not mean he was unsatisfied with his decision, explaining, “There is a risk in this. Also, there is no assurance that Krrish 4 directed by Rakesh Roshan would get such a positive response from the audience, it could be the other way.”
Rakesh Roshan's original Krrish trilogy started with a sci-fi movie ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ featuring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta.
Because of this tremendous success, he made/ brought out Krrish in 2006 featuring Hrithik and Priyanka Chopra. The superhero film, which was made at a cost of Rs 40 crore, was a great success at the box office. In 2013, Rakesh directed Krrish 3 and alongside him Priyanka, also came Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut into the fold.
