Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the Nirmal Diwas programme organised on the 150th birth anniversary of National Saint Shiromani Gadge Baba at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in the capital Raipur. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that today we are all remembering such a great saint, who through his life and deeds gave the message of cleanliness, service and social awareness to the society. He said that the message given by Saint Gadge Baba, "Cleanliness is true worship", is equally relevant and inspiring even today.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Sant Gadge Baba's inspiration for cleanliness reminded him of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said that on August 15, 2014, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan from the Red Fort, and today cleanliness has become a mass movement. He said that it is due to the influence of Sant Gadge Baba's ideas that widespread awareness about cleanliness has emerged in the country.

The Chief Minister said that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has brought dignity to our mothers and sisters, especially in rural areas. The construction of toilets across the country has ensured their dignity and safety. He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, several landmark schemes have been launched for the upliftment of the poor, including initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. Today, the benefits of government schemes are reaching beneficiaries' bank accounts directly, which has increased both transparency and trust.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the country is steadily growing economically stronger and we are all moving forward towards the goal of a developed India. He said that along with building a developed India by the year 2047, it is also our resolve to build a developed Chhattisgarh. He said that the state government's effort is to increase the respect of every section of society and to connect all communities with the mainstream of development.

The Chief Minister stated that education is the key to development. Education is not merely a means to obtain a degree and a job, but rather the foundation for a successful and cultured life. Appealing to society, he said that it is everyone's responsibility to ensure that all children are educated. He also called for collective efforts to keep youth away from drugs and create a drug-free environment in society.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai visited a photo exhibition based on the life of Sant Gadge Baba and released his aarti and souvenir. He also honored talented children and prominent individuals from society who have excelled in various fields.

MLA Shri Sunil Soni, MLA Shri Motilal Sahu, and Padmashree Pandit Ramlal Bareth also addressed the program. Descendants of Sant Gadge Baba were also present on stage.

Officers and dignitaries of Chhattisgarh Rajjak Samaj including Mr. Tulsi Kaushik, Mr. Ghanshyam Choudhary, Mrs. Rajni Rajjak, Mr. Vinay Nirmalkar were present in the program.
