Omar Abdullah will be the first Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The National Conference won the first assembly elections held after the abrogation of Article 370. Preparations have been completed for Omar Abdullah to take oath as Chief Minister. Officials said that preparations have been completed for the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister and members of his Council of Ministers at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC) on Wednesday.
He said that the Chief Minister and his ministers will be administered the oath of office and secrecy by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at 11:30 am. Officials said that tight security arrangements have been made around the swearing-in ceremony venue. He said, “Security has been tightened as many VVIPs will attend the program. We will ensure the smooth conduct t of the program. Invitations have been sent to the components of the ‘India’ alliance to attend the swearing-in ceremony.

Let us tell you that assembly elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir in three phases. The election results came on October 8. In the elections held for 90 assembly seats, National the Conference won 42, BJP 29, Congress 6, PDP 3, JPC 1, CPI(M) 1, and AAP 1, while 7 independent candidates won. Congress and the National Conference contested the elections in alliance in Jammwithand Kashmir. Earlier, the President was based in Jammu and Kashmir. The Home Ministry repealed its earlier order of October 31, 2019, regarding impost, the edition of the President’s rule in the region. The latest order of the ministry dated October 13, 2024 has repealed its 5-year-old order.
