Parents of Muskaan Rastogi Demand Death Penalty Following Murder of Merchant Navy Officer in Meerut:

The parents of Muskaan Rastogi, who has been accused of the brutal murder of her husband, Saurabh Rajput, a merchant navy officer, in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, have expressed their outrage over the crime. They have publicly called for the death penalty for their daughter and her co-accused, Sahil Shukla, and have strongly condemned Muskaan's actions, labeling her as "not fit for society."

Muskaan Rastogi allegedly murdered her husband, Saurabh Rajput, after he returned home to Meerut on March 4, only to be killed in what authorities have described as a gruesome crime. Along with her lover, Sahil Shukla, Muskaan allegedly dismembered Saurabh's body, sealed the parts in a drum filled with cement, and disposed of it in the Indiranagar area of Meerut.

Parents' Reactions

In an emotional statement to the media, Muskaan's father, Pramod Rastogi, condemned his daughter's actions, stating, "My daughter (Muskaan) killed her husband (Saurabh). She is not fit for society and is dangerous to everyone. I would advise others not to take such steps. She should be hanged till death, and if possible, it should be live."

Her mother, Kavita Rastogi, echoed the sentiment, saying, “Saurabh was a good man... We demand justice, and we want her (Muskaan) to be hanged till death." Their calls for the death penalty reflect the deep emotional pain and anger they feel over the horrific crime committed by their daughter.

Details of the Crime

According to police reports, Saurabh Rajput had been working in London since 2023 and had returned to Meerut on March 4. However, he was reported missing shortly after his arrival. Following a thorough investigation, police officers in Meerut began questioning Muskaan Rastogi and her partner, Sahil Shukla, based on suspicions regarding Saurabh’s disappearance.

During questioning, Sahil Shukla allegedly confessed to the crime, revealing the gruesome details of the murder. He stated that on March 4, he and Muskaan had stabbed Saurabh to death, dismembered his body, placed the parts into a drum, and sealed it with cement. The police recovered the dismembered body and sent it for a post-mortem examination.

Ongoing Investigation

Following the confession, the police arrested both Muskaan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla, who are currently in police custody. The investigation is still ongoing, and police officials have indicated that further developments will be shared in due course.

Meerut City SP, Ayush Vikram Singh, confirmed the investigation’s progress, stating, "Based on the confession of Sahil Shukla, we have arrested both accused. They will face appropriate legal actions."

In addition, the police have revealed that Muskaan's partner, Sahil Shukla, allegedly introduced her to 'ganja' (cannabis), and his addiction to the substance may have influenced their violent actions.

Attack on Sahil Shukla at Court

Further adding to the drama surrounding this case, Sahil Shukla was attacked by a group of lawyers while being presented in a Meerut court for a further remand. The lawyers reportedly acted in anger due to the horrific nature of the crime, highlighting the emotional and social outrage that the case has sparked.
