Beijing: The possibilities of improvement in relations between India and China are increasing continuously. A month ago, the bilateral meeting between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the G-20 meeting in Rio de Janeiro had reduced the tension between the two countries that had been going on for 4 years to a great extent. After this, the ice in India-China relations started melting slowly. Now to take this link further, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval reached Beijing on Tuesday to participate in the India-China Special Representative (SR) talks to be held on Wednesday.

The aim of this dialogue is to restore bilateral relations that have been affected for more than four years due to the military standoff in eastern Ladakh. Doval will hold the 23rd round of talks of Special Representatives (SR) with his Chinese counterpart and Foreign Minister Wang Yi. During this, many issues are expected to be discussed to restore bilateral relations after the agreement reached on October 21 between the two countries regarding the withdrawal of troops and patrolling from eastern Ladakh.

China ready to work together with India

Ahead of this crucial dialogue, China on Tuesday said that it is ready to honour its commitments based on the consensus reached during the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan, Russia on the sidelines of the BRICS summit on October 24. When asked about the special representative talks at a press conference, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said that China is ready to work with India to realise the important consensus reached between the two leaders (Modi and Jinping), enhance mutual trust and confidence through dialogue and communication, honour its commitments and push bilateral relations back towards strong and sustainable development.
