Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Telugu film icon Nandamuri Balakrishna received the Padma Bhushan in a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan, which is India's third highest civilian award. This is a significant milestone in the actor’s career that has been marked with achievements in the Indian film industry.

Balakrishna expressed this joy along with his gratitude and excitement to ANI. He mentioned having 4500 fan clubs registered across different states like Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Telengana, besides Odisha and Karnataka. Balakrishna also expressed thanks towards the Government of India for its appreciation of his work.


Balakrishna Remembers His Contribution of 50 Years

“Thanking my supporters and the government of India, this award is being given at a time when I have been active in the  cinema business for five decades,” said the actor, underlining the timing of the award. He also added that proudly serving as an MLA and having myito hspital—one of the five larget in the country—mark sthese milestones.

Balakrishna, however, agrees saying even though there were people who thought he deserved the Padma award earlier, currently is the time that suits best. Administering tele-medecine after cancer surgery  in Mumbai, Balakrishna said: “I have been able to achieve fiscal level of four successful movies in a row and on my 15th year as chair of a cancer hospital, I mark fifty years in the cine world.”

Other Celebrities Honoured Alongside Balakrishna  
The recipients of Padma Bhushan award that are also noted for achievements in other fields of art include K. Vishwanath, Ajith Kumar, Shekhar Kapur and singers Jaspinder Narula and Arijit Singh.

Balakrishna’s Upcoming Projects: Akhanda Sequel in the Works  
In his recent project, Daaku Maharaj directed by Bobby Kolli and featuring Urvashi Rautela, Shraddha Srinath, and Pragya Jaiswal. Balakrishna was also seen in the movie.

News has it that he’s already working on the highly awaited sequel to Akhanda which is being directed by Boyapati Srinu. As in the first movie, he will play a dual-role of a powerful aghora and a village headman. Rumor has it that Samyuktha and Aadhi Pinisetty are also in talks to join the cast.
