Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Nagpur is poised to become a central hub for India's aviation ambitions as Max Aerospace and Aviation has unveiled a groundbreaking plan to establish an ₹8,000 crore helicopter manufacturing facility in the city. The monumental project represents a significant boost for the 'Make in India' initiative and is expected to generate direct employment for around 6,000 people in the Vidarbha region.

The announcement was made in the presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The state-of-the-art factory will be located in the MIHAN-SEZ (Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur - Special Economic Zone), a location strategically chosen for its robust infrastructure.

Max Aerospace plans to roll out the investment in two phases. An initial ₹3,000 crore will be injected to kickstart the project, followed by an additional ₹5,000 crore in the second phase to scale up operations.

A key highlight of the venture is its focus on producing advanced, composite-made helicopters. This makes it the first private-sector facility of its kind in India. The company will manufacture two-seater and six-seater helicopters, which are not only vital for transport and commercial use but are also slated to be configured as air ambulances. This will significantly enhance emergency medical response capabilities across the country, fulfilling a critical need for rapid medical evacuation services.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, a vocal proponent of developing Nagpur as an industrial powerhouse, has thrown his full support behind the project. He has already directed officials to expedite the land allocation process within the MIHAN-SEZ, ensuring the project moves forward without delay.

This landmark investment by Max Aerospace is more than just a new factory; it’s a powerful step towards achieving self-reliance (Atmanirbhar Bharat) in the high-tech aerospace and defense sectors, solidifying Nagpur’s emerging status as a premier manufacturing destination in India.
